A lot of people moan about the price of supps,
esp now as we are facing a mini credit crunch,
I know some foolish enough to buy cheap unbranded waste produce,
I think its actually cheaper though to have a pro mr or peptide v spuds/chicken/veg,
Bottom line, bbuilders need 6-8 small meals per day,
The time to consume/prepare just is not pratical for the working man.
Has anyone at admin got any price/breakdowns regarding supps v solid foods.

kk - Funnily enough I did all this about a year ago and put pictures up on Betta Bodies wall so that people could visually see a meal and get an idea of the nutritional values.

The nutrional value for the above
40 grams of protein, about 60 grams of carbs, 5 grams of fat and about 470 kcalories.
I have not included some secondary protein from the carbs and veg in case anyone gets their calculator out.
Colin (works at CNP) has been on Tesco web site and priced the above meal with the cheapest ingredients that Tesco sell (value) and it comes to £2.05. That is going to tesco, buying it (no waste), cooking it etc. With decent Chicken you could nearly double this.
With a Pro MR, depending upon where you buy it from it will cost you just over £1.50 and you will get far more bio availability from the protein, cultured pro biotics (not freeze dried), and only in a 270 kcal environment. You can always add carbs to Pro MR if you need them.
Quality supplements will give you better nutrients (bio available) and they are cheaper.

COOL
I know having a pro mr for breakfast certainly helps me,when dieting,
I can mix it-drink it-in less than 2 minutes.
The weird thing is,i am not hungry either afterwards.
some cheap whey drinks i used in the past, left me feeling hungry almost immediatley.

Everywhere I read people say supplements cannot match a decent meal, is this true ?? Could you live on a diet of supplements and still lead a healthy lifestyle with no food whatsoever ??

No, you wouldn't get enough fibre.

I would also be hungry a lot. Food fills me more than shakes, the act of chewing is what we were born to do.

In a way you have answered your own question - supplements are just that ------ supplements. They are an addition to food
As long as your regular diet is sound, supplements make a good addition to help you achieve your goals. However food is what is needed
