Hi Kerry,
Just wondering mate, whether or not multivits are an essential part of bodybuilding?
I currently take Multibionta Probiotic Multivitamins, twice a day (along with Omega3 Fish Oils) and i'm wondering whether or not most, if not all of the nutrition is coming out as urine? I have heard arguements for and against this research, so just thought it was worth a quick question.
Thanks in advance.

kk - The government tell us that we need 5 fruit and veg a day, but that is for the sedate man in the street who doesn't train, if the average man need 5 fruit and veg a day then a hard training athlete needs a minimum of 10, how many out there can honestly say hand on heart they have that many plus some athletes are in weight catagories and even though micronutrients are low in kcalories, they are programmed not to eat too much. We all pay attention to macronutrients (carbs, fat and protein) and obviously these are very important but none of this will be assimilated/metabolised properly without the body functioning to its full capacity. Vitamins and minerals are responsible for all chemical reactions and processes in the body. They are procursors to a lot of antioxidant which are also very important to rid the body of all the waste materials (free radicals) from hard training.
The fact of the matter is if you are a hard training athlete and you do not take a good/strong vitamin and mineral supplement, you are almost certainly deficient in micronutrients.
There are numerous studies that supplementing vitamins/minerals to athletes, clinically unheathly and even people who smoke and drink a lot of alcohol will support the processes in the body that create all the metabolic reactions. If you are worried about some of the vitamins and minerals being excreted in the urine (which would be minimal) take them on a full stomach with your food. When you eat, your body is working at its most efficient in extracting nutrients (including your vitamin/mineral supplements), this is the most efficient way to take them.
I dont want to pour cold water on the supplment you are taking as I truly have never reads its label, but is it designed for the man in the street or the hard working athlete? make sure it is strong enough.

Thanks for the advice Kerry, much appreciatied.
I suppose i'm just on standard multivitamins designed for the average man. I know there are products available ie - AnimalPak, but i'd rather not spend too much money on a product that does not deliver. Keeping stocked up on protein is already an expensive task, so i'll have to wait and see what I can afford.
Do CNP offer a similar product?
And thanks for making it easy to understand Kerry, cheers for that.

CNP do a high strength vitamin and mineral product, which also contains milk thistle, evening primrose oil and a ZMA formula.
It comes in a AM/PM format because of this mate.
It is pricey but if you were to buy ZMA separate plus the other extras you get in Pro-Vital it most likey would cost more IMO.

I was taking pro vital but 27.99 for multi vits seemed so steep. I am now taking tesco's multivitamins for 44 p lol, i know its only for the every day man and not a bber but still its something right?

kk - Pro Vital is designed for hard working athletes and believe me micronutrients are just as important if not more important than macro nutrients, without them all the chemical reactions in the body will not function properly. Personally I think 93p a day is not a bad insurance policy.

Thanks Kerry. I will look into Pro Vital, looks like there's a good selection of healthy fats in there aswell, so that could stop me buying Omega3 Fish Oils every 4 weeks.
Thanks again mate.
