I know that you are a big friend of dorian yates,and i'm a big fan of him...so do you know how was dorian yates off season training?how many reps dorian done in off season to each bodypart?and how did dorian cycle his training?

kk - Dorians workouts are probably the most published on the planet, he used to go down to 4-6 reps and always used heavy intense training. If he did 3 different exercises for chest, he would warm up properly on the first exercise, maybe 3 or 4 sets but then when he changed exercises he didn't see the need to warm up as much so the second exercise on chest would be 2 sets, the 3rd exercise would be 1 or 2 sets.

kerry you said 4-6reps but dorian says in flexmagazine and website 8-10 to upper and 10-12 to legs ......i don't understand......a friend said me that dorian used 6-8upper and 8-10reps legs off season and preontest 8-10 and 10-12......

so what is the true???

Think we went through this once before didn't we?
Just train 8 reps to failure, plus 2 negs if you can and you won't go far wrong.
Dorian was in a slightly different situation to yourself.

It is irrelevant what Dorian said back in the day. He was talking about what was best for him. We have had this debate many times before and it's getting boring now.

Dorian worked out what was best for him personally so I think that you should just get in the gym and work out what's best for you and stop asking the same questions over and over.

If you are not getting the results you want (which I very much suspect), it is most likely down to the actual training that you do (or the intensity of it) or diet being insufficient.

Well said Coops. Too many people analyse too much - stop thinking and get on with some hard work. There are many, many effective ways to train - its finding what works for you but also knowing when to change as your body will adapt to any program after a while.

You can have the most scientifically sound training program on paper and it will do jack *** if you don't apply yourself! Also, I've seen Guys in gyms who haven't really a clue what they are doing but work their arses off and get results.

The keys? Hard work and consistency.

also you might want to consider Dorian was spending around a grand per month on vits and stuff???

I now need to know though, is it exactly 7 reps, or 8?? This could be THE key to the Olympia crown!

And also, exactly how many minutes after training did Dorian have his shake, please can you be specific, as it could REALLY matter!

I don't think it is relevant what Dorian was spending on "Vits and stuff" either. They guy was about hard and consistent training coupled with a spot on diet 24/7.

I know I take more gear than some of the pros yet I don't look like one. The reason? Lack of consistency with training and diet. Simple as that.

kk - Im sorry mate, I don't want to burst your bubble, do you truly believe that all those magazine articles by all those professionals are really written by them.
