hey all,
thanks got my head down and a*!s up ready for next year now, thanks for all your comments cheers the pics are from 2007, anyway as for offseason diet etc... i made the mistake of going to heavy so my aim this year is to really stay in a realistic position to my competive weight.
As for my diet pretty simple really i vary each protein source from one meal to another this goes for carbs aswell earlier on in the day tend to take most of my carbs inn and later in the evening i ormally take them out or lower them and replace them with high good fats.
If your interested i can post my current eating regime up ???

Cheers for posting that Jordan. Thats some eating, will make most people realise how much they undereat!! Do you still do the morning cardio when offseason??
Do you think there was any positives that came from going too heavy over the last year? ie. did it thicken out your physique more or help you develop beyond a level that you could have done at a bodyweight?
Also could you recommend a good calf bashing sessions to help bring them up? I'm currently doing the hybrid routine that flex did on bb.com a few years ago but any tips or hints would be grand.
Enough ramblings for now... :cornut:

hey mate yeah did benifit me as one area i needed to focuss on was my quads and they have come up to match my hams and calves now which worked.
to be honest the only down side to grow that 3rd chin is that dieting can take that little longer, staying within 28 pound of contest weight then life is a lot easier.... this year im making a concious effort to keep 20-25mins high intestinty walking alternating between high pace and stroll 5 days per week just to stay in reasonable condition.
If I can be so bold.....
You could pack that middle of the night shit in Jordan, wastes your body rhythm and your sleep. Your digestive system needs down time too. Do you think it really helps? Pro pep should keep you nitrogen positive through the night.
Also why are you doing the glut post-workout? I would say this would partly be wasted as it competes with the BCAA and hydrolysed whey. Could be better on an empty stomach pre-workout, or at bedtime?

hi stow
firstly as i go to bed say latest 11pm so im drinking my pep at 10.45pm i wake like clock work around 2.30 am for the toilet so i have a pro pep then and i usually get up at 8-8.30 am so i cant see why it wouldnt be effected by taking in extra servig when i wake to use the toilet its not breaking sleep if im waking to use the toilet the shaker is preped all im doing is adding water, and as im sleeping for what 9 hrs, sorry but 1 shake 9hrs prior to bed and nothing between is too long a period without anything.
as for the glut i use it pre and post weights and pre cardio, with regards to the BCCA im sorry but how does this weaken the glut????
jordan jones
06-11-2009, 06:07 PM
with regards to the glut this is how i use it:
upon waking.
pre workout
postworkout
before bed
just to clarify

oooooooh its getting hot in the kitchen:smash:
If you're up anyway, then less issue I guess, but your digestive system works in cycles and does benefit from shutting down while you're asleep. Also if you felt you were going too long without protein and it bothered you, then you prob do right.
The glutamine is absorbed better on a totally empty stomach, ie it doesn't have to compete with other aminos. but I didn't realise you are splitting it in 4, couldn't be better (apart from seperate from the BCAA).
Are you having 5g per sitting?

Favourite Bodybuilder and Why?:-
Tough question! for his work ethic and experimental training routines Tom Platz. On a personal front I like the looks of bodybuilders these days such as Phil Heath, Dexter Jackson, Dennis Wolf , Silvio, competitors who get the condition but still have full muscle bellies but without the extended waistlines these guys are like illusionists on stage. I like to look at the total package rather than just who’s the biggest on stage, the likes of David Henry and John Hodgson these guys know how to get shredded but not only that bring a total package to stage a flawless physique you could say, but get over looked by guys taller with blurry midsections, or a competitor who’s got huge quads or massive biceps. My favourite bodybuilder though has to be Flex Wheeler for his symmetry, full muscles bellies and that X factor, the charisma and air he brought to the stage when competing was mind blowing.
Highlight of Career:- Receiving sponsorship from CNP and Winning my class at the EFBB Britain this year
Best Body Parts:- ?????
Worst Body Part:- ?????
Favourite Exercise:- Enjoy training everything
Least Favourite Exercise:- haven’t got one all exercises are meant to hurt
Favourite Movie:- To many to list Blow, Point Break, Shaw shank Redemption like all films across the board
Favourite Binge Out:- Meat Balls and spaghetti, Pizza, cheesecake, apple pie oh yes!!!
Food You Hate the Most:- Sprouts!
What You Love Most About Bodybuilding:-
You are in control of what you want to look like the challenge and mind set you must go under and set yourself leading up to a show. The discipline it teaches you and lets you learn a lot about yourself as it can be a very lonely road. Bodybuilding is unlike any other sport you don’t get time off it’s a 24/7, 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year job.
What’s Your Long Term Ambition in Bodybuilding?:-
Would love to one day turn Pro and compete at Pro Level
What advice Would You Give to Up and Coming Bodybuilders?:-
Find some with knowledge of the sport and listen to them, there are so many things to learn and know its must to have a teacher when starting out.
Any Other Comments:-
I would like to say many thanks to CNP: Kerry Kayes for giving me this opportunity it is very much appreciated thank you. Also meeting with John Hodgson and making me laugh so much.

Most guys take the glutamine post workout, then follow it up 10 mins later with their proper recovery drink.
I have it first thing in the morning too before I have a shower so its got time to digest before the breakfast feast!!
I take first thing, pre-workout, and at bedtime at the mo, 5g each time.
Pro-Rec post.
Best supp going if you ask me.

I'll get the ball rolling then...
1. What are you favourite albums to train to?
2. Any tips/suggestions to bring up crap calves?
3. Whats your opinion of this years 202 Olympia results/placings? And do you see yourself in that top 10 ever? In my opinion Eduardo should have taken it, with Henry or Dugdale in second. Kevin English is an impressive powerhouse but isn't what this class is about, he lacks the shape and seperation of the other guys...
Hopefully Lee Priest will be back year to make things even more interesting.

hey mike,
right love to train to rock creed puddle of mud limp bizkit jay z linkin park, nickleback pappa roach etc .... as for the 202 class think i am to tall for the class dont get me wrong think i could get down to the weight but compare to those guys they are like pocket rockets big full with great conditioning through out personally i think i would look to stringy at that weight being 5'9!!!
as for the placings totally agree with you would of had eduardo 1st henry 2nd im biest as he is one of my best mates flex 3rd with dugdale ........
kevin english is awsome dont get me wrong and has last X frame with huge size for the weight but in my opnion and its just an opinion he is put together all wrong it just doesnt flow!!!!
personally i think eduardo didnt win as he isnt sponsored end of its his 3rd pro show and untill this year to be honest apart from winning the arnold amature un heared, and people can cry that politics isnt involved but i do believe they do hold back on atheletes when they are up against bigger names
but like i said this is my opinion !!!!:D

As for calves this is what i do personally, i train them 3 x per week as follows
day 1 : 2 x warmup sets standing calf raises
then superset 1st standing calf raises, straight into leg press toe push full stretch, then straight into
donkey raises stading on 2 plates of 20kg. Each station is performed to failure reps between 12-20.
i repeat the routine 3-4 times.
day 2: 3 heavy standing calf raises reps 20-8 and maybe 2 sets of reversed hack squats so your facing the
pad reps 15-12.
day 3: 2 x warmup sets seated calfs with 20kg disk then what i 5 working sets adding a 20 kg eack set,
once i get 6 plates of 20kg i perfom a super set where i go to failure then my training partner removes
a disk until im back down to 1 20 kg disk this perfomed without stopping or racking the weight.
then this is just something i do everytime i get in the shower i do 100 reps calf raises until its unbareable it works for me ha ha ha:out:
