Looking great Wendy! Have you got any pics from when you started? Would be great to see how much you've improved...

When are you competing next too?

Hi Wendy, looking massive and in top shape!!

I know you probably get this all the time, but how do strangers in the street for example take your size?

People who are into the sport understand the training etc involved, but I still think that outside competative bodybuilding it is a very unknown sport.

Cheers

Hi John,

Well over here i get mixed reactions, mostly positive but a few negative. These are mostly from females who are out of shape or jealous of their partners admiring me. But, for the most part, it's pretty cool. Where i live & work most people know me & once they get chatting to me that stero type opinion falls away.
When im in the States its all positive & people approach me & ask me things where unfortunately in the UK more people tend to rudely stare without bothering to ask or talk to me.

Hi Helen,

Thankyou very much :)

My diet pre contest for that pic is very basic: zero carbs, high protein from chicken breast, lean steak, whole omega 3 eggs, salmon & of course Pro-Peptide (mmmmm what would i do without my peptide:patriot:)Fats came from natural peanut butter:drool5::drool5::drool5:cashew nuts & extra virgin olive oil & of course those found in eggs. All of my diet as always is done by The General (Karen Marillier) who tweaks things & changes things around as & when necessary. I'm extremely confident leaving all this in her capable hands & it takes all the stress off me as it's very hard trying to analyze & criticize yourself.
As for training ive just switched to a 5day week mon-fri for the beginning of my offseason & it seems to be working pretty well for me. I'm a confessed Gymaholic I just love training so 5 days is no problem for me & it allows me to focus on bodyparts more. I base my training on the basics; chins, Heavy rows, front squats, dips, DB curls, etc but now i have to train smart & have to go careful on deadlifts & squats due to my injuries. I believe in strict form over weight used & a strong mind muscle connection. Oh & an extreme intense approach. Some of the most intense sessions ive had have been overlooked by Big H at the Forest Gym. Wow..intense isn't the word but unbelievable!!
Hope this helps

Offseason - Got to be lasagne (with full fat sauce, no light stuff !!!)

Or a nice Chicken Tikka Massala, Basmati Rice and a garlic Naan.

Once a week isnt too bad in my books on the offseason.

I do like flapjacks though!!! :yesnod::D

MMMMM lasagne sounds lovely. However i always think all food tastes better when someone else makes it for you. (diet food not included!)
i don't know about you but if it was up to me i'd probably just eat plain old chicken or steak & rice & broccoli 24/7. But my partner always makes different healthy options offseason which is great otherwise i'd be so boring.

I know I was thinking the same mate !! How do you manage to fit all your training in etc around a job in the police ??

Wendy McCready
13-11-2009, 04:24 PM
HA HA HA!!!:biggrin5:

I manage because i can.
Where there's a will there's a way & i firmly believe if you really want to do something, no matter what, you'll do it. There are no obstacles, just challenges to overcome. I love a challenge & thrive on it. That's why it annoys me when people say " oh i don't have time to train". MAKE TIME.

Having said that i'm in no way shape or form blowing my own trumpet & i have great support from my partner & my colleagues are great.

No point moaning about it, JUST DO IT!!

Wendy's plans for 2010.

"My plans for this year are to do the Tampa Bay Pro in Florida on July 16th & the Battle of the Stars in Connecticut July 23rd. I'm doing this with the hope of qualifying for the Olympia & to right my wrongs from last year. I'm on a mission to put it mildly!!!"

Good Luck Wendy.

Well it's that time of year again guys & the road to redemption has begun!

Really can't wait to get back on that stage although im having a minor back operation tomorrow this won't stop me ive suffered enough with it so it can only get better.

Hopefully ill get a couple of guestspots this year too with a bit of luck which would be nice as i love getting onstage in the UK & its my only chance now.
Hope you're all training hard.

Hey Wendy

Good luck with your back op and good luck with your show prep. It is always a weird feeling when you know you have got to get back on a diet. You dread it but also look forward to the challenge of getting back in shape again.

Good luck

Thankyou very much Vicky i appreciate your support. I was actually looking forward to begining this years diet for the simple reason i need to right my wrongs from last year. I don't mean that by the judges decision i mean purely from my own standards & how disappointed i was with my finished article last year. Redemption!
Hope your training is going well.
