im trying out an experiment to see if i can gain muscle and lose fat at same time. ill let you know the results .

training :

push/pull/legs split mon, wed, fri
45 mins cross trainer steady state on tue, thurs, sat morning on empty stomach
rest on sunday

nutrition:

weight training days - 20% calorie surplus. 6 meals all consisting of complex carbs and protien. also pro recovery with 5g creatine as well as the 6 meals

cardio days - 20% calorie deficit. 1st 3 meals (morning ) of the day are complex carbs with protein. last 3 meals (evening) are veg and salad with protein. and also take pro creatine e2 capsules

sundays is maintenance calories with a couple of cheat meals included.

*im looking to gain 7lb of muscle and lose 7 pound of fat in 14 weeks

I think its possible, if your really overweight, but it will be hard work.
As you need clean calories to gain muscle, but its going to be calorie deficient diet.
Why dont you just eat clean, have one cheat meal a week, no alcohol for 14 weeks?
Im sure you will trim down the fat eating clean, and retain the muscle you have now.

sounds like an interesting experiment that i will be keeping my eye on.
How will you determine 7lbs of fat loss in regards to fat/muscle/water.

i want to gain the same amount of muscle as fat that i lose just as an experiment. i dont want to lose fat and maintain muscle. i want to see if this works cos if it does i can use it again in the future

well im gonna weigh myself once per week and take a body fat measurement. if my body fat percentage decreases whilst my weight stays the same or even increases then obviously ive lost fat and gained something else. as for determining wether the weight youver gain is muscle or water i dont now how to measure that im afraid
